titleOfInvention Method for controlling the growth of microorganisms
abstract The present patent application relates to a method for controlling the growth of microorganisms in at least partially circulating process water from an industrial plant, comprising the step of introducing an aqueous chlorine dioxide-containing solution into the process water in order to set a redox potential of from 400 to 800 mV in the process water, wherein the aqueous chlorine dioxide-containing solution has a pH of from 4 to 7.5 and a ratio of chlorine dioxide to chloride ions of greater than 1, wherein the process water has a temperature of from 5 to 50°C.
