abstract | A shaving aid composition includes a soap base, such as an extruded soap base or a poured soap base, and a natural wear resistant agent selected from one or more polysaccharides. The one or more polysaccharides may include, for example, an algae extract, a seed extract, a plant exudate, a microorganism exudate, a fruit extract, a gelling agent of animal origin, or combinations thereof. In one example, the one or more polysaccharides include agar, xanthan gum, or combinations thereof. Additionally, the shaving aid composition may be substantially anhydrous and solid. Moreover, the shaving aid composition may be incorporated into a razor. For example, the shaving aid composition may be incorporated into a razor as a shaving aid body, a shaving aid strip, and the like, located on, in, or adjacent to a razor cartridge of the razor. |
