abstract The present invention relates to a method for producing 3D printing material. In the method, a photocatalyst-sheet silicate composite is first produced from at least one photocatalyst and at least one sheet silicate. A photocatalyst-sheet silicate-polymer composite is then produced from the photocatalyst-sheet silicate composite and at least one thermoplastic polymer. The photocatalyst-sheet silicate-polymer composite is lastly subjected to a shaping process to obtain a 3D printing material. The present invention additionally relates to a 3D printing material comprising a thermoplastic matrix and a composite material which is embedded in the matrix and contains at least one photocatalyst and at least one sheet silicate. The present invention further relates to a method for producing components from the 3D printing material and to a component produced thereby.
