titleOfInvention Detecting and processing biopotentials
abstract A system for detecting and processing biopotential signals, and methods of making and using such a system and parts thereof, are described. The system may be configured to be flexible and to adhere temporarily to the skin of a human or animal, and to detect biopotentials from multiple locations concurrently. One or more aspects of electromyography (EMG) may be performed, including detecting biopotential signals from muscle tissue resulting from muscle contraction caused by electrical signals triggered by motor neurons. A plurality of electrodes to detect biopotential signals may be arranged in a pattern, and contacted to the skin of the human or animal so that the pattern of the electrodes aligns with one or more biological parts or areas, for example, the muscle fibers of one or more muscles. An extent of a detected biopotential signal resulting from deep muscle tissue, as opposed to shallow muscle tissue, may be determined.
