| abstract | Obtained is a smoking system that, upon insertion of a flavor generating article into a chamber, facilitates the sensing of the article having reached the terminal end of the chamber, and also facilitates the prediction of the article about to reach the terminal end of the chamber. The smoking system satisfies A ≤ 4.00N and B > 1.0, where A is an insertion force comprising a resistance value when a flavor generating article is inserted into an accommodating portion and the tip of the flavor generating article has reached the terminal end of the accommodating portion, and B is a first resistance force ratio which is the ratio of a rear-half average resistance force to a front-half average resistance force when the flavor generating article is inserted into the accommodating portion, wherein the front-half average resistance force is an average of resistance values between a predetermined position on an insertion end of the accommodating portion and an intermediate point between the predetermined position and the terminal end of the accommodating portion, and the rear-half average resistance force is an average of resistance values between the intermediate point between the predetermined position and the terminal end of the accommodating portion and the terminal end of the accommodating portion. |
