abstract The invention relates to a nuclear fuel pellet (6), comprising: - a straight cylinder (60) of fissile material with a central axis (X), the length and diameter of which define the length (H) and diameter (Øpellet), respectively, of the pellet; - an insert (8) made of metal or a thermally conductive metal alloy, the insert extending along the length of the pellet and comprising at least one solid disc centred on the central axis and a solid shaft extending along the central axis and rigidly connected to the solid disc, the ratio R between the diameter of the disc (Ødisc) and the diameter of the pellet (Øpellet) being less than 0.8.
