abstract The test method is a method for determining whether a detection-target substance A is present in a sample, wherein the detection-target substance A, by binding with an active substance B, inhibits binding via a prescribed mode between the active substance B and a recipient substance C. The test method carries out at least the following first treatment and second treatment in the indicated sequence. (First treatment: obtaining a treated-sample solution that contains the aforementioned sample and an active substance B to which a labeling substance is bonded.) (Second treatment: bringing the treated-sample solution into contact with an adsorbent that has an insoluble particulate carrier that carries the recipient substance C, and subsequently measuring the amount of adsorption of the labeling substance to the absorbent.)
