abstract The purpose of the present invention in order to solve the problem is to provide a composition, for preventing or treating an inflammatory disease caused by ultrafine dust, comprising a Codium fragile extract as an active ingredient. More specifically, by verifying that the Codium fragile extract has an excellent cytoprotective effect against cytotoxicity generated in nasal cells, lung cells, and neuronal cells, has a lipid peroxidation inhibitory effect in a brain tissue of an animal model exposed to ultrafine dust, and inhibits an inflammatory-related protein expression, the composition is prepared to prevent or treat a respiratory disease or a neurological disorder caused by ultrafine dust. The present invention may be utilized for a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating an inflammatory disease caused by ultrafine dust and a health functional food composition for preventing or relieving an inflammatory disease caused by ultrafine dust.
