abstract The present invention relates to a method for producing a tomato plant, having enhanced resistance to a tomato yellow leaf curl virus, by gene editing, and a tomato plant produced by means of the production method and, more specifically, to a method for producing a genome-edited tomato plant having enhanced resistance to a tomato yellow leaf curl virus comprising the steps of: editing a genome by introducing, to a tomato plant cell, a DNA, coding a guide RNA specific to a target sequence of a tomato-derived SlPelo ( Solanum lycopersicum Ty-5) gene, and an endonuclease protein; and redifferentiating a tomato plant from the genome-edited tomato plant cell.
