abstract The present invention addresses the problem of providing a suppressant for nervous system vascular barrier breakdown. Provided is a suppressant for nervous system vascular barrier breakdown, the suppressant comprising (a) or (b) as an active ingredient: (a) an enzyme capable of specifically detaching or decomposing a sugar chain of low-glycosylated basigin; and (b) an antibody, an aptamer, or a lectin that specifically binds to low-glycosylated basigin and suppresses the nervous system vascular barrier breakdown caused by basigin. Preferably, the sugar chain of the low-glycosylated basigin is high-mannose sugar chain.
