abstract The invention relates to a device for automated plant cultivation and more specifically to a device having a conveyor belt (2) that can be moved along a conveyor path (1) for transporting plants and/or fungi (8). While the plants and/or fungi (8) are being transported along the conveyor path (1), which extends at least approximately horizontally in at least one first section (7) and at least approximately vertically in at least one second section (6), the plants and/or fungi (8) are at least temporarily supplied with water and nutrients by a nutrient supply unit (9). According to the invention the conveyor belt (2) is formed from a sheet of a thermoplastic material and has a plurality of recesses (3a) for receiving biological material such as seeds, cuttings, rhizomes or root balls of the plants and/or fungi (8), wherein at least one opening (3b) being formed in each of the recesses (3a) on the bottom side for penetration of roots and/or hyphen, respectively and/ or for nutrient supply of the plants and/or fungi (8).
