titleOfInvention | Protein having hdgf (hepatoma-derived growth factor) function for use in treating and preventing neurodegenerative diseases |
abstract | The present invention relates to a protein having HDGF (hepatoma-derived growth factor) function or a nucleic acid molecule capable of expressing a protein having HDGF function for use in preventing or treating neurodegenerative diseases. The present invention also relates to a method for diagnosing neurodegenerative disease in a subject, comprising I) detecting the expression level of HDGF in a sample obtained from said subject, and ii) comparing said expression level of HDGF with the expression level of HDGF in a sample obtained from a healthy subject(s) or with a predetermined standard expression level, wherein a greater than 2-fold downregulation is indicative for neurodegenerative disease in the subject. |
