abstract The present disclosure provides methods for producing Phyla dulcis plants and plant parts that are substantially camphor-free and also have an increased level of hernandulcin. Phyla dulcis plants and plant parts, as well as compositions comprising the same, are also provided herein. The present disclosure provides methods that utilize the regulation of the terpenoid biochemical pathways of P. dulcis as opposed to previous methods that depend on chemical synthesis or genetic, enzyme, microbial, and plant tissue engineering.
