abstract A mechanically-strong, biocompatible, food-contact safe and germ-repellent engineering plastic and a method for preparing this engineering plastic: this engineering plastic comprising one or more base engineering plastic resins and one or more germ-repellent modifiers incorporated with one or more carrier agents, where the plastic optionally includes one or more additives of compatibilizers, reinforcing fillers, heat stabilizers, and/or antioxidants. The plastic before and after the introduction of the germ-repellent modifier (s) with the carrier agent (s) has no significant difference in mechanical properties of less than approximately 20%, biocompatibility of no observed in-vitro cytotoxicity, and at least one-year shelf life at room temperature without any alteration of germ repellent efficacy, mechanical properties and biocompatibility.
