abstract Provided is a sterilizing/virus-inactivating agent for toothbrush, which is intended to be used in the sterilization/virus inactivation of at least a brush part in a toothbrush, and which contains an effective amount of an ingredient derived from a naturally occurring material. It is preferred that the oral toxicity safety of the ingredient derived from a naturally occurring material is 2,000 mg/kg or more, more preferably 10,000 mg/kg or more. It is preferred that the sterilization/virus inactivation effect lasts for 6 hours, more preferably 12 hours, still more preferably 24 hours, from the application of the sterilizing/virus-inactivating agent to a toothbrush. It is preferred that the component derived from a naturally occurring material is humus extract.
