titleOfInvention | Surgical instrument and method for operating same |
abstract | The invention relates to a surgical instrument having at least two segmented coagulation electrodes (300). Each segment (301) of a coagulation electrode (300) has a switching element (304) located on a side of the surgical instrument (100) facing away from the relevant segment (301). In a method for operating the surgical instrument, in a first operating mode, an electrical current is passed from a first segment (301) of a first coagulation electrode (300) to a first segment (301) of a second coagulation electrode (300), opposite said first segment (301). In a second operating mode, an electrical current is passed from the first segment (301) of the first coagulation electrode (300) to a second segment (301) of the second coagulation electrode (300), adjacent to the first segment (301) of the second coagulation electrode (300). |
