titleOfInvention | Treatment method using a gene therapy agent |
abstract | The invention relates to the field of biomedicine and nanomedicine, and more particularly to methods for gene therapy and for delivering nucleic acids to the body, as well as to methods and compositions for treating a subject. The essence of the invention lies in a method (and a composition for the implementation thereof) for treating a subject in need of treatment of a disease caused by loss of protein function or activity, which includes: administering to said subject an antibody that specifically binds to blood cells; administering to said subject an agent containing a heterologous polynucleotide that encodes a protein, which provides for or amplifies the function or activity of the protein, or administering to said subject an agent containing a heterologous polynucleotide which transcribes into a nucleic acid that inhibits, reduces or reduces upregulation of the function, activity or expression of the given protein. The technical result achieved by the invention is that of increasing the circulation time of agents that perform the delivery of nucleic acids (polynucleotides), increasing the efficiency with which polynucleotides are delivered by said agents to targets in the body, and also reducing the toxicity and increasing the safety of such agents. |
