abstract The present invention relates to a vaccine comprising at least one glycoconjugate of synthetic Streptococcus pneumoniae oligosaccharides and a carrier protein, and at least one agonist or activator of toll-like receptors such as TLR1, 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, or 9, wherein the at least one glycoconjugate and the at least one adjuvant are encapsulated in biodegradable polymer particles. The vaccine of present invention is useful for the prevention and/or treatment of diseases caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, in particular Streptococcus pneumoniae serotype 3.
