abstract A glucose monitoring system includes a sensor control device comprising an analyte sensor coupled with sensor electronics, the sensor control device configured to transmit data indicative of an analyte level, and a reader device comprising a wireless communication circuitry configured to receive the data indicative of the analyte level, and one or more processors coupled with a memory. The memory is configured to store instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to: determine a frequency of interaction over a first time period based on one or more instances of user operation of the reader device, and output a first notification if the determined frequency of interaction is below a predetermined target level of interaction and output a second notification if the determined frequency of interaction is above the predetermined target level of interaction.
