Systems and methods for dispensing intravenous (IV) medication or IV fluid. In some examples, the systems and methods can provide one or more of safety, security, identification or measurement of the IV medication or the IV fluid. Some systems include one or more sensors in electrical communication with processing circuitry, and at least one of the one or more sensors is configured to identify or measure dispensing of the IV medication or the IV fluid. The processing circuitry can cause the data generated by the one or more sensors to be output to a display or saved to a storage device. The storage device can have an electronic medical record stored thereon. In some examples, systems or methods can identify a provider and record a chain of custody for the medication to ensure it is delivered to a patient. |
