abstract The invention relates to a method for determining a source-based particle size distribution of an aerosol using an aerosol-measuring device. First, a proportion parameter is determined which corresponds to the proportion of a source-based aerosol component of the aerosol. Furthermore, a particle size distribution of the aerosol particles is determined so that the source-based particle size distribution of the aerosol is determined from the proportion parameter and the particle size distribution. In terms of equipment, the invention comprises an aerosol measuring device for determining a source-based particle size distribution of an aerosol, said device being used to determine a proportion parameter that corresponds to the proportion of a source-based aerosol component of the aerosol. The particle size distribution of the aerosol particles can be determined so that the source-based particle size distribution of the aerosol can be determined from the proportion parameter and the particle size distribution.
