abstract Native or physically or chemically modified starches, consisting of insoluble native particles with a smooth surface, free of edges, harshness, and roughness of any kind, are used as ingredients for cosmetic compositions. The particles can be of a regular spheroidal shape with diameter between 0.1 and 60 microns or of a lenticular/lamellar shape with diameter between 5 and 60 microns and thickness between 0.5 and 15 microns. Using such starches allows obtaining cosmetic compositions with high aesthetic features.
