abstract Provided are a processing device and a measurement system with which it is possible to quickly and easily transport a plurality of specimen containers from a heating block to a cooling block. This processing device has: a heating block a plurality of first accommodating parts into which specimen-liquid-containing specimen containers are inserted from above, the first accommodating parts accommodating the specimen containers in a state of surrounding the periphery thereof, and the first heating block heating the specimen liquid within the specimen containers to a first temperature; a cooling block having a plurality of second accommodating parts into which the specimen containers are inserted from above, the second accommodating parts accommodating the specimen containers in a state of surrounding the periphery thereof, and the cooling block cooling the specimen liquid within the specimen containers to a second temperature lower than the first temperature; a holding part for holding a plurality of specimen containers; and a transport mechanism having a trajectory part that guides the holding part on an inverse-U-shaped trajectory, which is upwardly convex, when transporting the plurality of specimen containers from the heating block to the cooling block, the transport mechanism pulling the plurality of specimen containers up and out of respective first accommodating parts, and moving the plurality of specimen containers downward from above to insert the plurality of specimen containers into respective second accommodating parts.
