abstract The present disclosure relates, in part, to methods for treating various disorders, including for example nephropathic cystinosis, primary biliary cirrhosis, lipid metabolism disorders (e.g., hyperlipidemia, dyslipidemia, triglyceridemia), and disorders of the central nervous system (e.g., Huntington's disease, Alzheimer's disease, pantothenate kinase-associated neurodegeneration). In certain aspects, methods provided herein for the treatment of, for example, nephropathic cystinosis, primary biliary cirrhosis, lipid metabolism disorders, disorders of the central nervous system, asthma, and hypertension include administration of a therapeutically effective amount of a combination of pantethine and a vanin agonist or activator.
