abstract Provided herein is the identification of breakpoints within the Cannabis genome indicative of differential expression of the tetrahydrocannabinolic acid synthase (THCAS) and cannabidiolic acid synthase (CBDAS) genes, and markers that can predict tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), cannabidiol (CBD), cannabigerol (CBG) levels. Identification of the breakpoints and markers described herein may be useful for marker-assisted selection techniques used during plant breeding.
