abstract | Provided is a method for producing fluorine gas, wherein pipe or valve clogging caused by mist can be prevented. The fluorine gas is produced by a method comprising: an electrolysis step for performing electrolysis of an electrolytic solution in an electrolytic cell; an average particle size measurement step for measuring the average particle size of mist contained in a fluid generated inside the electrolytic cell during the electrolysis of the electrolytic solution; and an air discharging step for discharging the fluid from the inside of the electrolytic cell to the outside through a flow channel. In the air discharging step, the flow channel through which the fluid is discharged is switched according to the average particle size of the mist measured in the average particle size measurement step. When the average particle size of the mist measured in the average particle size measurement step is less than or equal to a predetermined reference value, the fluid is fed to a first flow channel through which the fluid is discharged from the inside of the electrolytic cell to a first outside, and when the average particle size of the mist measured in the average particle size measurement step is greater than the predetermined reference value, the fluid is fed to a second flow channel through which the fluid is discharged from the inside of the electrolytic cell to a second outside. The predetermined reference value is a numerical value within the range of 0.1-1.0 μm. |
