[Problem] The problem addressed is to develop a system that enables a biological substance such as cells to be rapidly and easily immobilized on a hydrogel thin film. [Solution] An immobilization material, for immobilizing a biological substance having a lipid membrane on a substrate, wherein: a hydrogel thin film layer, comprising a polymer, and a structure in which a biological substance immobilization compound is modified on the hydrogel thin film layer are provided; the biological substance immobilization compound comprises a hydrophobic chain that can interact with the biological substance and a hydrophilic chain that connects to the surface of the hydrogel thin film layer; a reactive group X that can bind to the surface of the hydrogel thin film by a covalent bond is provided at a terminal of the hydrophilic chain; and the polymer comprises, within the molecule, a reactive group Y that forms a covalent bond with the reactive group X. |
