abstract | A joint application of quercetin and an antibacterial medicament, capable of generating synergistic antibacterial efficacy, and reducing the minimum inhibitory concentration and minimum bactericidal concentration of the antibacterial medicament. The joint medicament is capable inhibiting bacterial growth; meanwhile, as quercetin provides a synergistic effect against Escherichia coli as the antibacterial medicament, the antibacterial medicament inhibits at a reduced dosage the growth of pathogenic bacteria, thus enhancing the antibacterial efficacy of the antibacterial medicament, also reducing the generation of drug resistance in bacteria, enhancing the effect of bacterial infection resistance, reducing the dosage of the antibacterial medicament used, and allowing the compound or the combination to be applied in preventing and treating diseases caused by bacterial infections. |
