abstract |
The present invention relates to a strain having ability to lower blood ammonia levels and a composition comprising same for neuronal protection and, more specifically, to a single strain which has ammonia removal efficacy in the body to lower blood ammonia levels and thus has a neuronal protection function, or a strain combination having a symbiotic pair relationship with the single strain, and to a composition comprising same for neuronal protection. The strain having a neuronal protection function by lowering blood ammonia levels is selected from the group consisting of Lactobacillus sp. and Streptococcus n sp. . The strain and composition according to the present invention have a neuronal protection function owing to excellent ability thereof to remove ammonia, which is a neurotoxic substance, and therefore can be widely used as an agent for prevention or treatment of hyperammonemia and a nervous system disease resulting therefrom. |
