abstract The present invention relates to the field of polymer materials, and specifically relates to a halogen-free flame-retardant epoxy resin composition and use thereof. The composition comprises an epoxy resin and a halogen-free composite flame retardant having a diphenylphosphine oxide flame-retardant group. The composition comprises 100 parts of an epoxy resin, 5-15 parts of a main flame retardant, 0-10 parts of a synergistic flame retardant, 2-30 parts of a curing agent, and 0-1 part of a curing acceleration cross-linking agent. The composition further comprises a mixture of at least two or more of a reinforcing fiber, a toughening agent, a filler, a silane coupling agent, and a solvent. The diphenyl phosphine oxide group-containing composite flame retardant has high flame-retardant efficiency and low addition amount, has excellent compatibility and dispersion with an epoxy resin, and can achieve intermolecular dispersion with the epoxy resin during curing, thereby maintaining an original transparent state of the epoxy resin. The final cured flame-retardant resin composition has properties of low cost, high transparency, low water absorption, high glass transition temperature, high thermal stability, low dielectric constant and dielectric loss, and high flame retardancy.
