abstract | Provided are a pH measurement method and a pH measurement device that are for measuring the pH value of a solution. The pH measurement method is configured so as to comprise: an irradiation step for irradiating a solution containing a pH indicator and a pH changing material with light emitted from a light-emitting element; a light reception step for receiving, by a light-receiving element, transmission light that has transmitted through the solution; a measurement step for measuring absorbance of monochromatic light of the received transmission light; and a calculation step for calculating, by referring to an absorbance table created in advance, the pH value that corresponds to the absorbance measured in the measurement step. Meanwhile, the pH measurement device is configured to comprise: an irradiation unit which irradiates a solution containing a pH indicator and a pH changing material with light emitted from a light-emitting element; a light reception unit which receives transmission light that has transmitted through the solution; a measurement unit which makes a measurement of absorbance of the wavelength band of monochromatic light of the received transmission light; and a calculation unit which calculates a pH value corresponding to the absorbance measured by the measurement unit by referring to a prescribed absorbance table. |
