abstract | The invention relates to a process for the distillative purification of a crude isocyanate that is obtained by the phosgenation of a corresponding amine in a distillation apparatus under vacuum, in order to obtain the corresponding isocyanate, the process being characterised in that: at least one liquid-piston compressor is used to create the vacuum in the distillation apparatus; a specific operating fluid is used for the at least one liquid-piston compressor; the pressure p on the intake side of the at least one liquid-piston compressor is between 10 and 200 mbar(a); the operating temperature of the at least one liquid-piston compressor is between -17 and +15 °C; and the operating fluid at the exit from the at least one liquid-piston compressor has an AC value of less than 35,000 ppm. The invention also relates to a corresponding use of at least one liquid-piston compressor for creating a vacuum in a device for distilling a crude isocyanate, and to a corresponding process for operating a liquid-piston compressor for providing the vacuum for the distillative purification of an isocyanate that is obtained by the phosgenation of a corresponding amine in a distillation apparatus, in order to obtain the corresponding isocyanate. |
