titleOfInvention Method of producing cryogels with natural biomaterials and use of such cryogels as soft tissue scaffolds or drug delivery systems
abstract The present invention relates to the production of cryogels from various natural biomaterials and the use of such cryogels as drug delivery systems and/or cell-based or cell-free soft tissue scaffolds. The objective of the present invention is to produce a porous tissue scaffold from natural and biocompatible materials such as LBG, XG and MG, and to provide a medium for enabling cells to adhere to and grow on these scaffolds, and if needed, for release of molecules such as drugs, growth factors, hormones, etc. and enable the cryogels to be used also as a separate drug delivery system that provides extended release of the molecule loaded therein.
