abstract | Disclosed are a device and method for measuring resistors by means of a direct interface circuit. The method comprises a succession of alternating processes of charging and discharging a capacitor. The processes of discharging the capacitor comprise a first, second and third process of discharging through a first calibration resistor Rc1, a second calibration resistor Rc2 and a resistor R, respectively, thereby obtaining a first discharge time TRc1, a second discharge time TRc2 and a third discharge time TR. If the time used to discharge the capacitor by through the resistor R exceeds a threshold time Tx, discharging continues only through the first calibration resistor Rc1, obtaining the corresponding discharge time T'Rc1(R). Lastly, the resistor R is estimated from the values of the calibration resistors and the discharge times obtained, with a considerable reduction in the measuring time used. |
