abstract |
Provided is a method for producing a fluoropolymer in which the efficiency of utilization of a polymerization initiator is improved. A method for producing a fluoropolymer, comprising the step of polymerizing a fluoromonomer in a water-based medium in the presence of a fluorinated diacyl peroxide represented by formula (1): XRfaC(=O)OOC(=O)RfbY (wherein X and Y independently represent H or F; and Rfa and Rfb independently represent a linear or branched perfluoroalkylene group which has 1 to 6 carbon atoms and may have an ether bond) to produce the fluoropolymer, wherein the water-based medium has a pH value of less than 2.5. |
