titleOfInvention | Use of mlc1 for diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of epilepsy and cognitive impairments associated therewith |
abstract | The present invention relates to a novel use of MLC1 for diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of epilepsy and cognitive impairments associated therewith. As a significant increase was found in the expression level of MLC1 in the hippocampus following an early-onset seizure in a mouse model induced with an epileptic seizure, by means of the expression level of MLC1 in the hippocampus in a subject that has had an early-onset seizure, not only can epilepsy be diagnosed, but also the progression of epilepsy and cognitive impairments associated therewith can be ameliorated and treated. |
