titleOfInvention | Optical element |
abstract | The present invention addresses the problem of providing an optical element which takes advantage of diffraction properties of liquid crystal to diffract reflected light or transmitted light and which produces no hue within the visible light range. The optical element according to the present invention has: an optically anisotropic layer formed by using a composition containing a liquid crystal compound; and a photo-alignment film, wherein the optically anisotropic layer has a liquid crystal alignment pattern in which the direction of an optical axis derived from the liquid crystal compound changes while continuously rotating along at least one in-plane direction, and the photo-alignment film exhibits an average transmittance of at least 90% for both light having a wavelength of 380-780 nm and light having a wavelength of 380-480 nm. |
