abstract Disclosed are a polysaccharide and the use thereof. Melanin is a high-molecular biochrome mainly distributed in human epidermal cells and keratinocytes, which determines the skin color and hair color of a person. However, over-accumulation of melanin may cause color spots, freckles, dark skin, etc. Provided in the present invention are three polysaccharides, BLH-1-JZ, BLH-2-JZ and BLH-3-JZ, isolated from the rhizome of Adonis amurensis Regel et Radde, the purity of the polysaccharides being high. It is found that the three polysaccharides have excellent freckle removal and whitening activity (the mechanism of freckle removal and whitening involving: inhibiting the proliferation of melanocytes and inhibiting the synthesis of melanin in melanocytes). Same can be used to prepare a face cream for freckle removal and whitening, a face cleanser for freckle removal and whitening, a face mask for freckle removal and whitening, and other cosmetics.
