abstract | Provided is an exterior member for an electricity storage device, the member comprising a thermofusible resin layer containing polypropylene and polyethylene, wherein whitening and insulation loss caused by molding are suppressed. The exterior member for an electricity storage device is configured from a laminate comprising at least a base material layer, a barrier layer, and a thermofusible resin layer, in that order from the outer side toward the inner side. The thermofusible resin layer contains polypropylene and polyethylene. Regarding a cross-section of the thickness direction and a direction parallel to the TD of the thermofusible resin layer, a sea-island structure is observed in a cross-sectional image acquired using a scanning electron microscope. If the total thickness of layers located inward of the barrier layer is set to 100%, the cross-sectional image is acquired within a range from the surface, on the side opposite the barrier layer side, of the thermofusible resin layer to a portion that is at 12.5% of the thickness. In the cross-sectional image, the ratio of the total number of island sections, from among the island sections, that have a surface area of 0.02 μm2 or smaller to the total number of island sections in the sea-island structure is 80.0% or greater. |
