titleOfInvention A device to generate customizable light curing patterns for ophthalmic applications
abstract The invention relates to a device to generate customizable light patterns to cure adhesives for ophthalmic applications. The device is configured with three different functional options that produce customized corneal crosslinking using a light source of any wavelength without restriction to the ultraviolet range. The device comprises of a light source of desired wavelength, a light modulation unit, collimating or imaging optics to produce a beam of uniform intensity, a fixation target, a verification arm, a pupil target, a control unit and manipulation hardware. During corneal crosslinking, customized treatment zones of light intensity are created based on patient characteristics and disease surface features such as topography of the cornea. The device is useful in analyzing corneal degenerated conditions, corneal infections and also to detect biomechanical stability of cornea after refractory surgeries
