abstract |
The purpose of the invention is to provide a method for producing silica-coated boron nitride particles which is capable of producing silica-coated boron nitride particles which keep the high thermal conductivity of boron nitride particles while having improved moisture resistance and adhesiveness, a method for producing a heat-dissipating resin composition containing silica-coated boron nitride particles, and silica-coated boron nitride particles. The invention provides a method for producing silica-coated boron nitride particles comprising boron nitride particles and silica coating covering the surface of the boron nitride particles, said method comprising a first step of coating the surface of the boron nitride particles with an organic silicone compound containing a specific structure and a second step of heating the boron nitride particles coated with the organic silicone compound at a temperature of between 500°C and 1,000°C inclusive, thereby allowing boron nitride particles coated with a rigid, homogeneous, and ultra-thin film silica to be obtained. |
