titleOfInvention | Method for screening for autophagy regulator targeting glycosylation of ulk1 protein |
abstract | A method, of the present invention, based on a mechanism in which O-GlcNAcylated ULK1, according to the present application, plays a crucial role in binding to ATG14L so as to induce the phosphorylation thereof, which is followed by the activation of VPS34 and subsequently leading to phagophore formation and initiation of autophagy, caused by an increase in PI3P, can be effectively used as a target for the development of new drugs for treatment of autophagy-related diseases. Particularly, O-GlcNAcylation of ULK1 has been found to contribute to early progression of autophagosomes rather than the fusion of autophagosomes and lysosomes, and thus can be used in the development of new drugs that are useful for early regulation of autophagy progression. |
