titleOfInvention Optical therapy/diagnosis device, and method of operation therefor
abstract An optical therapy/diagnosis device (1) comprises a catheter shaft (10), an optical waveguide (20) that is arranged in a lumen (11) of the catheter shaft (10) and can be advanced/retracted in the longitudinal direction of the catheter shaft (10), and a transparent member (30) that is arranged in the lumen (11) and more to a distal side than the optical waveguide (20), wherein: the optical waveguide (20) is one that guides a first ray (51) and a second ray that have different wavelengths; the catheter shaft (10) is provided with a side exit window (12) where the first ray (51) and the second ray exit to the side, and a distal exit window (13) where the first ray (51) exits in a distal direction; the optical waveguide (20) has a core (21) and a cladding (23); the normal of a distal end surface (22) of the core (21) is inclined relative to the optical axis of the optical waveguide (20); when the optical waveguide (20) and the transparent member (30) are abutting, the first ray (51) is transmitted through the transparent member (30); and when the optical waveguide (20) and the transparent member (30) are separated, the first ray (51), being guided through the core (21), is reflected at a distal end section of the optical waveguide (20).
