This imaging element is provided with a photoelectric conversion part wherein a first electrode 21, a photoelectric conversion layer 23A that is composed of an organic material, and a second electrode 22 are stacked; an inorganic oxide semiconductor material layer 23B is formed between the first electrode 21 and the photoelectric conversion layer 23A; and if the composition of an inorganic oxide semiconductor material that constitutes the inorganic oxide semiconductor material layer 23B is expressed by MaNbSncO (wherein M represents an aluminum (Al) atom, and N represents a gallium (Ga) atom and/or a zinc (Zn) atom), a, b and c satisfy (a + b + c) = 1.00, 0.01 ≤ a ≤ 0.04, and b < c. |
