titleOfInvention | Device for in-situ cooling of body-internal biological tissues |
abstract | The invention relates to a device for in-situ cooling of body-internal biological tissues. The device contains a cooling device and an implantable and sterile cooling unit, which has a heat absorption zone, which is suitable for establishing heat-conducting contact to a body-internal tissue. Furthermore, the device has at least one hollow hose, which contains or consists of plastic and connects the cooling device to the cooling unit, and contains a material for transporting thermal energy, which is arranged within the hollow hose. The device is thus suitable for transferring thermal energy on the heat absorption zone of the cooling unit to the material in order to transport thermal energy and to transport same to the cooling device. By means of the device, it is possible to protect a body-internal biological tissue in a position-selective manner during cancer therapy from damage caused by said cancer therapy in a simple, cost-effective and low-risk manner. |
