titleOfInvention | Hybrid horizontal glass melting furnace with high flexibility in energy input |
abstract | An horizontal glass furnace for melting raw materials in a tank 10 comprising, from the furnace inlet:. a port 16 for charging the furnace with raw materials to be melted;. a flue gas discharge opening 17;. a heat recovery section 2 having a suspended roof;. an evacuation of the flue gas from a combustion section 3 to the flue gas discharge opening by flowing through a heat recovery section;. a downstream outlet 14 for the melted materials; - wherein the combustion section has at least two combustion zones 31, 32 filled with burners 6, 7; - wherein electrodes 9, 91, 92, 93 are located in the tank 10 in heat recovery section 2 and combustion section 3; installed heat input of electrodes 9, 91, 92, 93 coverings at least 50% of total furnace heat inputs; - wherein the ratio of length A of the heat recovery section to a length AB of the tank dedicated for melting and rising to fining temperature is at least 40%; - Wherein average inner height h of the recovery section 2 is less than 50% of maximum height H under the roof in combustion section 2; - Wherein the melt surface is kept above the chemical fining temperature in the last combustion zone 32. |
