The invention provides in vitro methods for diagnosing acute kidney injury (AKI) and for the prognosis of AKI, preferably for the prognosis of intrinsic AKI, more preferably intrinsic AKI that courses with acute tubular necrosis (ATN) due to renal cortical tubule damage. This invention also refers to methods for monitoring the response to a treatment against AKI in a patient and for testing the nephrotoxic activity of a compound. |
