abstract The problem addressed by the present invention is to provide a method of polishing, etc. under suitable conditions to heighten the effect of tooth whitening. A tooth whitening method that carries out the following steps 1-3 in numeric sequence using a toothpaste material composed of a resin or resin composition having irregularities on the surface and citric acid or a citric acid metal salt dispersed or dissolved in a gel-like medium. [Step 1] Apply a gel of 1-73% citric acid or citric acid metal salt to the tooth surface. [Step 2] Heat by 37-45° heating plate for three minutes or longer. [Step 3] Rub with the toothpaste material while removing the gel.
