abstract | Provided is a component which: does not significantly change the viscosity of a cosmetic material; does not worsen stickiness or spreadability when being applied; and can impart a remarkably rich feeling. This tactile modifier for a cosmetic material comprises at least one water-soluble polymer selected from among polyacrylamide, and a poly N-substituted acrylamide derivative, wherein the water-soluble polymer has a weight average molecular weight of 500,000-8,000,000, and a stringing length (the distance that a container descends before the stringiness of a solution is broken, after lightly and uniformly putting a circular disk having a diameter of about 1 cm in contact with the surface of the aqueous solution, and allowing the container to descend at a speed of 5 mm/sec) at room temperature of 2 mass% of aqueous solution of the water-soluble polymer is at most 10 mm. |
