abstract | This 3-hydroxyadipic acid-3,6-lactone production method enables easy recovery of, from a 3-hydroxyadipic acid-containing aqueous solution, 3-hydroxyadipic acid-3,6-lactone, which is a material for synthesizing ε-caprolactam, the method including: a step (A) for obtaining a 3-hydroxyadipic acid-3,6-lactone-contaiing aqueous solution by adding an acid to a 3-hydroxyadipic acid-containing aqueous solution; and a step (B) for obtaining a 3-hydroxyadipic acid-3,6-lactone extraction liquid by bringing the 3-hydroxyadipic acid-3,6-lactone-containing aqueous solution obtained in step (A) into contact with an extraction solvent that undergoes phase separation with respect to the solution. |
